The future belongs to those
who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
– Eleanor Roosevelt
When an opportunity comes where you can take your talents and help others make their dreams come true, you grab it and hold on for the ride of your life!
And, I did that, receiving my Certificate in Grant Proposal Writing from a workshop at my local Volunteer Center. Our workshop instructor, Carol Geisbauer, is a “super rock star” in our nonprofit and fund-raising communities. I felt humbled and extremely grateful to be one of her students, and she is mentoring me in my freelance, grantwriting consultant endeavors.
It’s amazing how my skills and experience from the technical writing, business analysis, and training/learning fields have almost perfectly prepared me to be an effective proposal writer. I’ll be posting samples, soon.
If your organization needs a proposal writer for your grant application, let’s get in touch via e-mail.
Update 3/18/2008: My first grant proposal, written for an educator, was awarded by the foundation! The proposal is for an early-literacy project.
