Storyboards by Jenise Cook
My Skills and Experience
NOTE: I still work on instructional design projects, a limited few each year. However, I no longer develop eLearning courses.
As an experienced senior instructional designer, I work in storyboards in almost any format including MS Word and MS PowerPoint (and Apple’s Keynote and Pages). I’ve also used MS Excel for a team that needed a spreadsheet tool.
Below, you’ll find a few storyboard samples to view when you have time. If you have any questions, contact me and let’s chat.
Salesforce.com New Features Training for Field Sales Representatives
The client’s field sales reps were very frustrated with some features in the client’s custom Salesforce.com application. The software development team listened to the sales reps and revised the app so it worked the way the reps needed. The client allowed me to add some humor and a bit of light sarcasm into the VO narration and on-screen elements. This was my favorite project of my career.
PowerPoint Notes View – PDF file size is 2.35 MB (lots of images). 23 PPT slides.
I set up the basic layout on the PPT slides, then I used Notes View to include (a) the narration text for the voice over actor and (b) development notes to the e-Learning developer. The client used Camtasia. I captured the screen images of the Salesforce.com application.
Introduction to Money Laundering for Customer Service Representatives
I had two roles on this project, for a faith-based organization that accepted customer payments through its eCommerce application: instructional designer and preliminary eLearning developer. The client’s in-house team took my MS Word files and my MS PowerPoint files and finished development in Captivate due to a tight budget and limited time frame.
Because I was both instructional designer and first-level eLearning developer, the storyboard’s structure and instructions are very basic. On the client side, only two reviewers (Jane, the Compliance Director, and Mary, manager of the development team) reviewed my design documents and PPT slide decks.
MS Word Storyboard – File size is 48 KB. Detailed Design Document for a series of videos.
MS PowerPoint Storyboard – File size is 8.19 MB. Rough draft slide deck storyboard for the first video.
The Anatomy of Sleep and Sleep Disordered Breathing
Introductory Training for Field Sales Representatives
This introductory training for the field sales representatives of a medical device company taught me more than I can remember. I wore both hats on this project: instructional designer and eLearning developer (Articulate Storyline).
MS Word Storyboard – File size is 18.5 MB, and 30 pages; the first 10 screens of a very (very) large online course. This Detailed Design Document is a rough draft, and it includes some comments from the client’s SMEs.
WISE Services (for U. L.)
MS Word Storyboard – File size is 1.48 MB, and 35 pages.
MS Word – Jenise’s Templates
I created two very basic storyboard templates in MS Word to share with others.
MS Word Storyboard, Basic – File size is 15.5, and 1 page.
MS Word Storyboard, with Media File Names – File size is 15.2 KB, and 1 page.
